Cub Scout Pack 164 in Yorktown, NY needed a website that could be managed easily by volunteers without any special training and survive “hand offs” from one administrator to another as families aged-out of the Pack.
Functionally, the site had to provide an overview of Pack activities and ease the burden of event coordinators by allowing families to sign up and pay for events online.
Westchester Marketing Cafe LLC took this project on pro bono as active members of the Pack. Just our way of giving back. As part of this project we included;
- A WordPress content management system allowing volunteers to easily update the site content
- An integrated Google calendar allowing families to subscribe to the Pack calendar and get updates automatically
- Integrated donation and event registration making sign-ups easier for families as well as the event coordinator
- A written tutorial to make transitioning from one volunteer to the next seamless
The volunteers tasked with managing the site and planning Pack events were thrilled with the ability to handle these tasks with minimal training and a resource guide at their side.
Event signups went more smoothly with families not having to remember to bring checkbooks to Pack meetings and could register at their convenience.
